Encana (TSX:ECA) (NYSE:ECA) will issue cash grants to various charities in Weld and Boulder counties, including the flood relief funds established by Weld County United Way and Foothills United Way.
Additionally, Encana will match employee donations of as much as $25,000 to registered charities.
“Encana is committed to assisting with the hard work and relief efforts already underway to mitigate the widespread impact of this flooding,” Encana CEO Doug Suttles said in a statement.
Encana shut off some of its producing wells in the Denver-Julesburg Basin in Northern Colorado and closed its Longmont office. The company has started bringing production back online as it assesses flood impacts and has re-opened the field office.
The Front Range flooding comes three months after widespread flooding in southern Alberta, Canada, forced the closure of the company’s corporate headquarters, as well as a small number of field operations.
