Developers unveil plans for Broomfield Civic Center
Two developers presented proposals to Broomfield city council this week for the city’s Civic Center, gathering feedback from council members.
The Broomfield Enterprise reports that a community meeting will be held to showcase the two plans and solicit comment from residents. Denver developer Dana Crawford’s Urban Neighborhoods Inc. and Marcel Arsenault’s Louisville-based Real Capital Solutions were the two companies to present their ideas for the area of land at the northeast corner of Main Street and First Ave.
The city sent out a request for proposals in late 2013 but got no responses. The 61-acre parcel includes several city and county buildings, like the library and police station, situated around a community park. But there is also a 9.8-acre undeveloped piece of land purchased by the city in 1999 that the city is hoping to see utilized with a mix of uses to help tie the area together as a walkable, central gathering place.
