Developers eye boutique hotel on University Hill
The city of Boulder is in preliminary discussions with developers about the possibility of building a boutique hotel on University Hill.
The Daily Camera reports that the hotel would be along the 1300 block of Broadway on the sites of multiple businesses, including Bova’s Market and Grill and Dot’s Diner. A public parking lot on Pleasant Ave. that is owned by the University Hill General Improvement District would also be included in the project.
City officials have declined to name the developers who brought the idea forward. The hotel could be one of just two built in that area. The University of Colorado is also considering building a hotel and conference center in the Grandview Terrace Area across Broadway to the east on the edge of campus.
