Denver oil company pays $385M for Chesapeake Energy assets

As oil and gas companies suffer from low commodity prices, one Colorado firm is adding to its holdings.

The Denver Business Journal reports that Denver-based FourPoint Energy LLC has struck a deal to buy 3,500 wells from Oklahoma-based Chesapeake Energy Corp. The assets are all located in Oklahoma and Texas. The deal follows an $850 million purchase of Chesapeake assets by FourPoint last summer.
