Denver-based ice cream shop’s Fort Collins plans denied

The owner of Denver-based Little Man Ice Cream said his plans to build an ice cream shop that looks like a large cream can near the Fort Collins Museum of Art have been denied by the city’s zoning office.

The Coloradoan reports that owner Paul Tamburello, whose first Little Man location is in Highlands Ranch, said that his planned shop would be considered a sign under Fort Collins zoning law,” and that it is too big to be considered such.

The paper reports that the store’s proposed site at the Museum of Art also means that the shop would “have to be designed to complement the existing structure” because the museum is designated an historic landmark.
