Dalai Lama cancels trip to Boulder on doctor’s orders
BOULDER — The Office of Tibet in Washington, D.C., announced Friday that the Dalai Lama’s upcoming trips to the United States, including events at the University of Colorado Boulder Oct. 20-21, have been cancelled because of medical reasons.
The Dalai Lama earlier this week visited doctors in the United States for a medical evaluation. Upon completion of the evaluation, doctors advised him to take complete rest, according to a prepared statement.
The Dalai Lama will be returning to Dharamsala, India. The statement said, “We deeply regret cancellation of the visit.”

CU said those who purchased tickets for the Dalai Lama’s events Oct. 20-21 will have the costs refunded to their credit cards beginning Oct. 5. The university’s athletics ticket office will contact those whose cards have expired or changed to make alternative refund arrangements.
The Office of Tibet said it will consider rescheduling the visit.
