Students will be able to earn either a Master of Engineering degree or a professional certificate in Renewable and Sustainable Energy. The school will also offer a professional certificate in Water Engineering and Management. All can be earned online or on campus.
CU’s Lockheed Martin Engineering Management Program, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute, and Water Engineering and Management program will partner to offer courses for the new degrees.
The school says it is responding to a growing need for professionals in the water and engineering industries. The courses will specialize in engineering management theory and practice, the water profession and energy technology, with an emphasis on renewable and sustainable energy. Core coursework in finance, accounting, project management, leadership and quality management will be included.
“Energy companies are hiring, and they want smart, innovative thinkers who understand energy and can succeed in a complex, dynamic environment,” Paul Komor, energy education director for RASEI, said in a CU press release.
