CSU committee suggests potential stadium sites
All of the recommended locations involve the removal of existing buildings. They also meet the standards set out by CSU President Tony Frank — including requirements that preclude building the potential stadium on existing green space or obstructing the view of the mountains.
Ingersoll location
One of the possible locations is on the western edge of campus, near the intersection of Shields and Elizabeth where Ingersoll Hall is currently located. Specific numbers are not given, but subcommittee documents show that the replacement cost for Ingersoll falls in the “medium” range.

Lake Street location
This location, according to the subcommittee, offers three separate 12-acre sites between West Lake Street and South Drive near Meridian Avenue. The buildings in this location also fall into the “medium” range of replacement cost.
Pitkin Street location
This location sits atop Pitkin Street adjacent to Mason Street and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad. Most of the buildings in this area are classified as “low” replacement cost, with the exception of the Painter Center, which houses lab animal resources and carries a “high” replacement cost.
Other subcommittees updated the public and the Stadium Advisory Committee as a whole on their progress at a meeting Thursday evening.
Frank expects a recommendation from the committee by the end of the spring semester in mid-May. The project must be approved by both Frank and CSU’s Board of Governors.
