CSU Blue Ocean biz challenge introduces new format

FORT COLLINS – Blue Ocean Enterprises and Colorado State University introduced a new wrinkle Thursday in their announcement of the second annual CSU Blue Ocean Enterprises Challenge.

 

The enterprise category of the business pitch competition, which awards a $250,000 grand prize, will take place May 26-30. The Collegiate competition, with a $20,000 grand prize, will be May 26 and 27.

Both events will be held in conjunction with the second Fort Collins Startup Week.

 

The major change this year will be the introduction of a single-elimination bracket format. Judges will provide feedback and instant votes on startups’ timed presentations.

 

Fargreen, a social enterprise based in Vietnam, won the Collegiate competition last year, while Loveland-based Decibullz won the Enterprise division.

 

Application details for the 2015 Challenge will be available at a later date at www.blueoceanchallenge.com.
