CSU announces College of Business accelerator program

FORT COLLINS — CSU’s Institute for Entrepreneurship announced Thursday that a dozen student entrepreneurs and their teams have been accepted into the recently launched New Economy Venture Accelerator program for 2013.

An event to recognize and congratulate the entrepreneurs will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Rocky Mountain Innosphere, 320 E. Vine Drive in Fort Collins. The celebration will feature the 12 entrepreneurial teams and will connect mentors and advisers with student entrepreneurs.

“I am really looking forward to presenting these amazing students and their venture ideas to the business community,´ said Charisse McAuliffe, director of the Institute for Entrepreneurship.

The Institute for Entrepreneurship in the College of Business provides entrepreneurship training, advising, coaching and work space for student-run ventures. The student teams will receive 16 weeks of hands-on training and an average $3,000 per team to invest in their business with the potential for more investment.

The ultimate goal is to create self-sustaining, funding-ready ventures.
