Erich, a 10-year veteran of the company, has been based in Boulder since 2007. He was named a partner in 2008 and managing director in 2011. He replaces Miami-based Jeff Steinhour, one of the company’s original four partners who is filling the role of vice chairman of the company.
The other move announced Wednesday was the hiring of music industry veteran Mike Saunter as chief operating officer.
CP+B has 750 employees worldwide at offices in Boulder, Miami, Los Angeles, London and Gothenburg, Sweden. There are 335 employees in the Boulder office, including chief executive Andrew Keller. The company does not disclose revenue.
“These announcements today are a reflection of our deep commitment to offering our clients compelling, strategic and innovative creative in the most streamlined, efficient and effective ways,” Keller said in a press release.
Erich joined CP+B in 2004 to relaunch the Burger King brand in the United States. He has also been a key player on several other accounts for the company, including Volkswagen, Microsoft Windows, American Express and Kraft. As president, he will oversee all global offices, including leading culture, connections and new business development. He will also partner with Steinhour on overseeing client relationships.
Steinhour will continue to oversee several key client relationships. He’ll also lead the vision and staffing for account management and be involved with recruiting talent and cultural initiatives.
Saunter most recently was chief financial officer of Warner Music International and served stints with EMI Group Plc and Sony Entertainment.
“Steve is a rare combination of incredible intelligence, reliability and great market knowledge with a proven ability to lead, unify and inspire both his team and our clients,” Keller said. “Mike’s financial expertise and his experience in the music industry, a creative industry that is overflowing with opportunities yet in the midst of profound changes – as is our industry, will be invaluable to us. And Jeff is a key to continuing our culture, what makes us great and what continues to be the heartbeat of CP+B.”
