County board extends oil, gas moratorium
The yearlong moratorium had been set to expire Feb. 1. County staffers had asked the commission for the extra four months to complete training and other processes they needed to start implementing new regulations on oil and gas extraction in unincorporated Boulder County that commissioners passed in December.
The commission also directed county staffers to prepare a report by late spring with specific suggestions for transportation impact fees the county might impose on the energy companies based on the potential wear and tear their heavy vehicles could cause on county roads.
