The article “Costly ads to fuel ballot battles over fracking” in the April 18 – May 1 edition of BizWest misstated which organization will report its finances to the state of Colorado in May. Protecting Colorado’s Environment, Economy and Energy Independence, an issues committee formed by Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (NYSE: APC), Noble Energy Inc. (NYSE: NBL) and other companies, will report its finances to the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office in May. The committee will address ballot issues, campaigns and elections.

By contrast, Coloradans for Responsible Energy Development (CRED) is a 501 c (6), considered a business league by the Internal Revenue Service. While the issues committee will focus on political matters, CRED’s efforts will center on education related to fracking.
