COO for Banner Fort Collins Medical Center chosen

FORT COLLINS – Banner Health on Tuesday said that John D’Angelo, chief executive of Banner Churchill Community Hospital, will relocate to serve as chief operating officer of Banner Fort Collins Medical Center.

D’Angelo expects to relocate to Colorado by mid-summer, according to a release from Banner. Churchill Community Hospital is located in Fallon, Nev.

He also served as the associate administrator at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley before moving to Fallon.
The medical campus, an $86 million project, is located near the intersection of Harmony Road and Lady Moon Drive in southeast Fort Collins and will include a 24-bed hospital.

In addition to the inpatient beds, the campus will include an emergency department, medical imaging, labor and delivery rooms, women’s services, and surgical and lab services in about 145,000 square feet.

Future phases of the project could increase its size to 384,000 square feet.

The project is slated to open in spring 2015. Kaiser, which opened a clinic just west of the hospital site on Harmony Road, has partnered with Banner Health so that its members may use Banner services, including its hospitals.
