Construction under way at Harmony Club

TIMNATH – Foundations have been poured for a new fitness center and indoor/outdoor event pavilion, and the buildings should start taking shape over the next few weeks as the Harmony Club golf course community ramps up construction on its clubhouse campus.

Byron Collins, owner and manager of the Harmony Club, said the new facilities should be completed by about mid-summer at the community located at 6432 Grand Tree Blvd. on the north side of Harmony Road about two miles east of Interstate 25.

“It’s moving along really nicely,” Collins said Monday. “It will really start to take shape here in the next 60 days.”

Ways to thank a caregiver

Included in the current $4 million phase of construction is the 3,600-square-foot fitness facility, which will be surrounded by outdoor tennis courts, pickleball courts, a basketball court and swimming pool. The 4,000-square-foot event pavilion will include a commercial kitchen that will service catered events as well as snack-bar facilities at the course. A new parking lot is also part of the construction.

Tom Dugan of Fort Collins-based PineCrest Development Co. LLC is leading the construction efforts, while architect David Hueter designed the facilities.

The Harmony Club golf course opened in 2007. Nestled within a one-square-mile community, the five-acre clubhouse campus will be near the center of the development, across the street from the golf cabin, which serves as the temporary clubhouse.

A permanent clubhouse will be built next to the event pavilion on the clubhouse campus in a future phase of construction, though Collins said a timeline for that project hasn’t been set. The Harmony Club has about 230 members, and Collins said he’s hoping to add about 70 more before beginning work on the clubhouse.

In addition to the clubhouse campus getting underway, the Harmony Club has also just gone to market with 70 new residential lots, with construction on the first homes slated to begin in the coming days. The third phase of residential development at the community is east of the clubhouse campus, and includes lots that are about a quarter to a third of an acre. Homes there will be 2,300 square feet and up, and will range from $600,000 to $1 million Collins said.

The Harmony Club has been steadily adding homes since the golf course opened, Collins said. Of the 180 lots that were part of the first two residential phases, nearly 150 homes have been completed.

“Harmony is known for its incredible architecture and great views, so we’ll continue that,” Collins said.
