Construction begins on Breckenridge-Wynkoop venture

FORT COLLINS — Construction has begun at the downtown Fort Collins restaurant formerly called Beach House, set to re-open this spring as a joint venture between Breckenridge and Wynkoop breweries.

The restaurant is located at 125 S. College Ave. and Breckenridge-Wynkoop has said that the concept for the location “will address several needs and wants of the Fort Collins community; additionally, it will incorporate specific landmark events in Fort Collins’ history.”

Breckenridge-Wynkoop closed on the property on Feb. 8 and plans on opening its new establishment, the name of which has not yet been released, this spring.

Wynkoop Brewing Co. and Breckenridge Brewery are Colorado’s first and third breweries, respectively. Wynkoop was co-founded in Denver in 1988 by Gov. John Hickenlooper. Breckenridge was founded in 1990 in Breckenridge by Richard Squire.

This is the 13th establishment for Breckenridge-Wynkoop, according to a release, and the first in Fort Collins.
