Companies can apply for state grant money

DENVER – The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade is accepting another round of applications for advanced industry startups.

The state agency will award proof-of-concept grants of as much as $150,000 with matching funds from companies. The grants from the state’s Advanced Industries Accelerator Program will fund research performed at Colorado institutions.

Early stage capital and retention grants of as much as $250,000 will be awarded with matching funds from companies. The grants are meant to help Colorado keep and grow businesses.

Online applications are being accepted at and are due July 1.

The grant programs were created last year under House bills 1001 and 1193 to promote growth in the aerospace, advanced manufacturing, bioscience, energy and natural resources, electronics, infrastructure engineering, and technology and information industries.
