Colorado Springs council OKs controversial land swap with The Broadmoor
A controversial land swap between the city of Colorado Springs and The Broadmoor hotel has gained final approval from the city council.
The Gazette reports that the deal gives The Broadmoor a 189.5-acre piece of land known as Strawberry Fields where the hotels owners will build a riding stable and picnic area. The city, meanwhile, receives some 480 acres and trail easements on multiple parcels.
