Colorado offers $3.5M for wildfire grants
The program, formed by Senate Bill 269 passed by the state Legislature last year, funds projects that reduce risks to property damage infrastructure and water supplies as well as those that will limit the spread of wildfires spreading into populated areas. Funds will be directed to nonfederal lands in Colorado.
The funding marks the third round of grants awarded to organizations and local governments. The state awarded $5.9 million in grants during the first and second rounds last year.
