Colorado mine laying off 200

A molybdenum mine in Clear Creek County and a mill in Grand County will see 200 layoffs in early 2016, cuts company officials are terming temporary.

The Denver Post reports that Freeport-McMoRan Inc. submitted a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act filing to notify state officials of the cuts. The cuts will come at the Henderson Mine near Empire and at the Henderson Mill, and are in response to a slide in worldwide molybdenum demand and prices.
