CDOT to present Highway 85 project update

NUNN — The Colorado Department of Transportation will host an open house Thursday to update the public on the project to improve a 30-mile stretch of U.S. Highway 85 between Ault and the Wyoming border.

The open house will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Town of Nunn Community Center, 185 Lincoln Ave. in Nunn, about 20 miles north of Greeley.

The $19 million resurfacing project, which was contracted to Fort Collins-based Connell Resources, is expected to begin the week of June 1 and continue into October 2016. It will include both asphalt and concrete resurfacing, embankment, full-depth reclamation, milling, box culvert extensions, structure rehabilitation, culverts, seeding and mulching, erosion control, fencing, signing, striping and rumble strips.

Solar Operations and Maintenance for Commercial Properties

One key qualification to consider when selecting a solar partner to install your system is whether they have an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) or service department. Since solar is a long-term asset with an expected lifecycle of 30 plus years, ongoing O&M should be considered up front. A trusted O&M partner will maximize your system’s energy output and therefor the return on your investment.

Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday during the period, and CDOT says motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures and possible traffic delays.

U.S. 85, a north-south highway east of Interstate 25, connects the northeastern Denver metropolitan area with communities including Brighton, Fort Lupton, Platteville, Greeley and Cheyenne.

A weather station and roadway sensors will be added to allow CDOT to detect road conditions on the highway that might require plowing or de-icing during storms.

For more information about the project is available at 970-373-1584, aultsh85@gmail.com or on the project website.
