Business coalition opposes Fort Collins fracking ban

FORT COLLINS – A coalition of local business owners and leaders said Monday that it is encouraging the Fort Collins City Council to resist a hydraulic fracturing ban.

More than 50 Northern Colorado business leaders and dozens of Fort Collins residents submitted a petition to Council members urging them to vote no on fracking ban proposals. The Council is scheduled to consider a ban at its meeting Tuesday.

“I joined this petition drive to show members of the Fort Collins City Council that there is broad support for responsible oil and gas development within our community,´ said Sean Dougherty, broker associate for Re/Max Alliance in Fort Collins.
