Broomfield gives Etkin Johnson green light for apartments

BROOMFIELD — Denver-based Etkin Johnson Group received approval from the Broomfield City Council Tuesday night to increase the number of housing units in the Broomfield Business Center so it can move forward with plans to build a 288-unit apartment complex on the site.

Etkin Johnson is building The Retreat at Flatirons, a 374-unit apartment complex in the business center that is bordered by the Northwest Parkway and Via Varra Road.

The council OKed an increase of residential units from 500 to 662 to accommodate the planned apartment complex. Jeff Fassbinder of Etkin Johnson said the landowner and developer is ready to submit site plans to the city.

Since solar is a long-term asset with an expected lifecycle of 30 plus years, ongoing O&M should be considered up front. A trusted O&M partner will maximize your system’s energy output and therefor the return on your investment.

The mixed-use business center is across the street from a 432-acre site that has sat idle after ConocoPhillips abandoned plans for a training and research facility in late 2011. Councilman Sam Taylor commented that there is nothing on the horizon to develop that site.
