The Third Annual Fall Harvest Brewfest held Oct. 15 in Fort Collins raised $11,000 for Animal House animal shelter. More than 30 Colorado craft brewers, micro-distilleries and sponsors turned out for the event. Located in Fort Collins, Animal House has given a second chance to more than 2,000 shelter dogs by providing relief and support to open-admission shelters both statewide and nationally. McKee Presents … Hearts of the West event, presented by the McKee Medical Center Foundation, raised more than $91,000 to benefit the Stepping Stones Adult Day Program at McKee Medical Center in Loveland. The Stepping Stones Adult Day Program provides participants an opportunity to socialize, build friendships and enjoy stimulating activities in a safe, caring environment.KUDOS Ehrhardt Keefe Steiner & Hottman has again been recognized as one of the top 25 best medium-sized companies to work for in America by the Great Place to Work Institute and Entrepreneur Magazine. The winners are selected based on a randomly distributed employee opinion survey about the organizations’ workplace cultures and a firm culture audit.The Melting Pot Restaurants Inc. named The Melting Pot of Fort Collins as the 2011 Melting Pot Franchise of the Year. The Melting Pot of Fort Collins stood out among The Melting Pot’s 142 restaurant locations for its profitability, customer service and interest in guest feedback, commitment to community involvement and for exceeding The Melting Pot’s franchise standards. Bikes will be refurbished and safety-checked to ensure safe riding for the recipients. In honor of National Philanthropy Day, and at Q4’s request in gratitude for their blessings, guests donated 111 pairs of socks to support Coopersmith’s Pub and Brewing Sock Give for the homeless and 177 pounds of food to support Food Bank of Larimer County. Q4 will donate a $300-match to food banks in their other primary markets.PROJECTS Fort Collins-based Bryan Construction Inc. has been awarded the design/build renovation of historic Building 284 on FE Warren AFB in Cheyenne. BCI will work with design partner DLR Architects to bring this historic brick building up to DoD Minimum Antiterrorism Standards as well as the Secretary of the Interiors Standards for Rehabilitation. On completion, the project will be submitted to the USGBC for LEED-EB: O&M Silver Certification.
