Bravo! event celebrates a decade of excellence

FORT COLLINS – Northern Colorado’s entrepreneurs will be both honored for their achievements and offered an opportunity for further education at this year’s Bravo! Entrepreneur event, set for Nov. 7 at the First National Bank Exhibition Hall at The Ranch in Loveland.

The annual Bravo! Entrepreneur Awards banquet celebrates 10 years of business excellence. The award was developed by the Northern Colorado Business Report in 1998 to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of Northern Colorado business men and women.

Winners are selected in seven categories and will be announced at the black-tie-optional awards banquet, which kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception. The award categories are entrepreneur for Fort Collins, Greeley and Loveland; Regional Spirit; Outlying Area; Emerging Entrepreneur; and Lifetime Achievement.

Select your Republic Services residential cart now!

In preparation for Republic Services becoming the primary provider of residential recycling, yard trimmings, and trash, residents should now select the best cart size and service schedule for their household needs.

To become a Bravo! award winner, an entrepreneur from either Larimer or Weld county must pass through a rigorous judging process.

The Awards Committee is made up of representatives appointed by participating chamber-of-commerce and economic-development executives. These committee members join previous Bravo! winners and a member appointed by the Business Report to represent communities outside the chambers’ territories to recommend potential winners to the Steering Committee.

Agencies are encouraged to appoint individuals with experience in accounting, entrepreneurship or business valuations, with some committee members carrying over from year to year.

The Bravo! Entrepreneur Awards program is conducted in partnership with the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce, the Greeley Chamber of Commerce, Upstate Colorado Economic Development; the Loveland Chamber of Commerce and the Northern Colorado Economic Development Corp.

As part of this year’s celebration, the Business Report has joined forces with the Colorado State University Department of Economic Development to present the Startup Journey 2007, formerly known as the Startup Summit.

The Startup Journey begins at noon prior to the Bravo! Awards dinner, in the McKee 4-H Community Building at The Ranch. The half-day forum will provide the region’s newest entrepreneurs the chance to learn from some of the best established local entrepreneurs, in particular past Bravo! winners, and connect with useful business resources.

Registration and tickets for Bravo! events are available online at www.ncbr.com or by calling 970-221-5400. Individual registration for the Startup Journey costs $49, and must be completed by Nov. 2. Tickets for the Bravo! Awards banquet are $75 each; corporate tables of eight are available for $550 and include recognition as a corporate table sponsor.

Platinum sponsors for the Bravo! Entrepreneur Awards include Bank of Choice and EKS&H. United Western Bank is the reception sponsor, and McWhinney is the dinner sponsor. Other sponsors include Palmer Flowers and CSU Department of Economic Development.
