Boulder’s Special Aerospace Services acquires C&C Manufacturing

BOULDER – Special Aerospace Services LLC announced Thursday that it has acquired Englewood-based C&C Manufacturing in Englewood, a move that should lead to hiring soon in both locations.

Heather Bulk, co-founder and CEO of Boulder-based SAS, said her company’s goal is to double C&C’s current staff of seven within the next 12 months. The acquisition will also mean the addition of a couple of more employees in Boulder to aid in the growth.

Terms of the sale were not disclosed. Bulk said C&C will become part of SAS, and that all C&C employees are being retained.

Founded by Bulk and her husband Tim in 2007, SAS provides engineering services for the aerospace industry. C&C, in business since 1965, is a precision manufacturing and machining company.

With a clientele that includes the Department of Defense, NASA and the commercial space industry, the acquisition of C&C allows SAS to provide a more streamlined approach to rapid prototyping of specialized products, and it will help the company cut down on lead times and costs for clients.

Bulk declined to disclose revenues for the two companies. SAS employs 60 people, including about 20 in Boulder.
