Boulder, Longmont firms offered $3.5M in state incentives

An unnamed Boulder cybersecurity firm and Avista Pharma Solutions in Longmont on Wednesday were offered a combined $3.5 million in state incentives to add 157 jobs locally.

The Denver Business Journal reports that the Colorado Economic Development Commission approved an incentive offer for the cybersecurity firm of $2.2 million, while an offer of $1.3 million was made to Avista. The Boulder company is also considering the United Kingdom and India for its new jobs, while Avista is looking at Massachusetts, Minnesota and North Carolina.

Avista was formed last year by Minnesota-based Accuratus Lab Services after Accuratus acquired Array Biopharma’s manufacturing and control operations in Longmont, retaining 33 employees and adding to that figure. Avista then subsequently acquired a 90,000-quare-foot manufacturing facility owned by Scynexis Inc. in Durham, N.C.
