Boulder Indian restaurant faces legal battle over Diagonal Plaza rent

The owners of the Diagonal Plaza shopping center in Boulder have filed a complaint in county court seeking to evict the Himalayas II restaurant, alleging nearly $7,000 in unpaid rent.

The Daily Camera reports that the issue stems from a broken fire sprinkler line that flooded the shopping center in August. Himalayas II remains closed since the incident, and the restaurant’s owners counter that work on repairing their space has not been completed while at the same time they’ve been asked to sign a new lease that includes a more than 50-percent increase in base rent.
