Boulder council gives initial OK to business recycling requirements

The Boulder city council gave unanimous approval on first reading of an ordinance Tuesday night that would create recycling requirements for businesses and property owners.

The Daily Camera reports that, under the ordinance, property owners would have to provide recycling and compost services for tenants, and that all businesses and special events would be required to separate recycling and compost from trash.

A public hearing and second reading of the ordinance are slated for May 19.
