Boulder Community Health buys more property near hospital

BOULDER — Boulder Community Health has paid $3 million for an office building near its Foothills Hospital campus in east Boulder.

The hospital acquired a 14,194-square-foot building on 1.29 acres at 4141 Arapahoe Ave. from Gary Krantz for $3,070,500. It is the ninth building near the Foothills Hospital that BCH has acquired.

Hospital spokesman Rich Sheehan said Tuesday that buying property around Foothills Hospital is part of a long-term strategic plan for future expansion. Sheehan said a specific plan for using the new building is still being formulated, but it will be some type of medical use.

During the past few years, the hospital has been buying properties near the Foothills Hospital, including eight properties in the Riverbend Business Park due east of the hospital that occupies the northeast corner of the intersection of Foothills Parkway and Arapahoe Avenue.

The building at 4141 Arapahoe acquired in late February is at the northwest corner of the intersection of Foothills Parkway and Arapahoe Avenue.

Sheehan said the hospital will be discussing options with current tenants of the building, who include architects, business consultants, insurance agents and a psychologist.
