Boulder City Council asks for investigation of Planning Board
Boulder city attorney Tom Carr will investigate Planning Board’s actions two weeks ago that led to a recommendation to city council to pass an ordinance nixing all building height exceptions for two years.
The Daily Camera reports that the city council at the end of its Tuesday night meeting asked Carr to look into the matter after several people raised concerns that the motion passed the planning board had been agreed upon by members in private in advance of the meeting. Planning board member Crystal Gray, who made the motion, denied any such wrongdoing to the Camera.
Council, which had given preliminary approval to an ordinance that blocked height exceptions in all parts of town but a few defined areas, ended up passing on second reading an amended version that ended up keeping a majority of the previously exempted areas in place.
