Boulder Chamber names Women Who Light the Community honorees
BOULDER – The Boulder Chamber has announced the names of the five honorees for its June 10 Women Who Light the Community gala.
The event honors women who have made significant contributions in improving the area’s economic vitality and overall quality of life.
The event will be held June 10 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at the Lionsgate Event Center in Lafayette. It will include the award ceremony, a dinner, networking, nonprofit expo and auction, and live music.

This year’s honorees include:
Jane Miller, CEO and founder, JaneKnows.com – Miller is a noted former executive at the likes of PepsiCo, H.J. Heinz, and Rudi’s Organic Bakery. She is also author of the book Sleep Your Way to the Top (and Other Myths About Business Success).
Hana Dansky, founder and executive director, Boulder Food Rescue – Dansk leads the nonprofit organization, which provides the homeless community with food that would otherwise be discarded by local restaurants and grocery stores.
Lori Canova, CEO, “I Have a Dream” Foundation of Boulder County – Canova’s organization helps low-income youth through long-term educational and cultural programs.
Elena Aranda, Director of the Companeras Program, El Centro AMISTAD – The Companeras program works primarily with Spanish-speaking women to enhance their quality of life, expand their access to educational and cultural programs, and develop political consciousness.
Zoe Stith, first-grader, Boulder Community School of Integrated Studies – Stith has been active in organizing fundraisers and letter-writing campaigns for important causes, including saving whales, the Humane Society and local park cleanup.
