Boulder-Broomfield rents climb higher
Renters paid $1,990 on average in the Boulder-Broomfield market for housing choices in one- to four-bedroom rental complexes, according to the Metro Denver Area Residential Survey conducted in cooperation with the Denver Chapter of the National Association of Residential Property Managers.
That compared with an average of $1,493.42 that renters paid in the third quarter for units in the same complexes, according to Division of Housing statistics. The survey covers rental complexes with one to four units in houses, condos, townhomes, duplexes, triplexes and fourplexes.

Average rent in the Denver metro area was $1,083.51 in the fourth quarter of 2012, down from $1,090.70 for the third quarter.
The Boulder-Broomfield market vacancy rate increased to 5.9 percent for such rental complexes in the fourth quarter, according to statistics. In the third quarter, the vacancy rate was at zero in the Boulder-Broomfield market. Across the metro area, the vacancy rate for such rentals was 1.7 percent.
The state Division of Housing keeps separate records on apartment building rents and vacancy rates across the metro area. In apartment buildings in the Boulder-Broomfield market with more than four units, the average monthly rent was $1,103.61 in the fourth quarter.
