‘Boot camp’ to aid businesses in achieving B Corp certification

B Lab Colorado and the Cultivation Center are teaming up to put on a six-week “boot-camp” for area businesses aiming to be come Certified B Corps.

B Corps are companies that have been certified by B Lab, a nonprofit organization, for meeting standards of social and environmental impact in addition to healthy bottom lines.

The B Corp boot camp will be hosted at Impact Hub Boulder, 1877 Broadway, Suite 100. The camp is spread out over four dates – Aug. 21 and 22, Sept. 12 and Oct. 2. Cost is $500, with registration taking place online.

WomenGive, a program of United Way of Larimer County, was started in Larimer County in 2006 as an opportunity for women in our community to come together to help other women.

Aspects of the camp that will be covered include learning insights from other Colorado B Corps, being assigned a B Corp coach to aid in the process, and focusing on the social, financial and environmental impacts of businesses as they try to meet the B Corp criteria.
