BCH to begin search for Bruno’s replacement

BOULDER — Frank Bruno has stepped down as president of the Boulder Community Health Foundation, the fundraising arm of Boulder Community Health, a nonprofit hospital serving Boulder County.

Bruno became president of the foundation in March 2015, replacing Ron Secrist, who retired.

The Boulder-based hospital plans to hire an interim leader for its foundation, but in the meantime will have Virginia Carducci, a longtime member of the hospital’s management team, act as interim executive director to oversee day-to-day operations. Carducci also serves as director of Rehabilitation, Behavioral Health and Integrative Care Services.

“Frank has been a dedicated supporter of the foundation and of BCH,” Dr. Robert Vissers, BCH’s president and chief executive, said in a prepared statement. “However, given the current and evolving needs of the organization, we determined that the foundation would be best served through a restructuring that can move our efforts in a new direction.  We thank Frank for his service to BCH and the Foundation, and wish him well in his future endeavors.

“We are fortunate to have an extremely strong board membership and leadership who are invested in the foundation’s continued success. Our long-term goal is to recruit an experienced and talented leader with a deep connection to our community’s health.”

Prior to joining BCH, Bruno was chief executive of Western Disposal Services in Boulder, vice chancellor for administration at the University of Colorado Boulder, city manager of Boulder and assistant city manager of Fort Collins.
