One key qualification to consider when selecting a solar partner to install your system is whether they have an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) or service department. Since solar is a long-term asset with an expected lifecycle of 30 plus years, ongoing O&M should be considered up front. A trusted O&M partner will maximize your system’s energy output and therefor the return on your investment.

The plants in Canton, which employ approximately 100 people and produce multiple-size closures for the food-can market, will become part of Broomfield-based Ball’s global metal food and household products packaging division.

“We are always looking for opportunities to expand into new capabilities that align with our customers’ needs while also maximizing value in our existing businesses,” said Michael W. Feldser, chief operating officer for Ball Corp.’s global metal food and household products packaging division, in a prepared statement.  He said the acquisition “is the perfect complement to Ball’s existing product portfolio and to our overarching U.S. metal food can strategy.”

Ball has had a business relationship with Sonoco that goes back to the early 2000s when the two companies signed an agreement for Sonoco to provide all of Ball’s requirements for easy-open, full-panel ends for food cans, as well as jointly market and sell food cans with easy-open ends.
