Baker-Hughes laying off 124 from Weld County facility

Oilfield services company Baker Hughes Inc. (NYSE: BHI), slated to be acquired later this year by rival Halliburton, is planning to cut 124 jobs in Brighton.

BusinessDen.com reports that Houston-based Baker-Hughes filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification with the state of Colorado earlier this month outlining the layoffs.

Baker-Hughes’ Brighton operation is at 285 Weld County Road 27. In December, Halliburton struck a $34.6 billion deal to acquire Baker-Hughes, though the merger has faced resistance from the federal government over antitrust concerns.
