Area businesses pitch in for flood victims

Here is a partial list of area businesses and organizations that are providing help to victims of the Colorado floods, both businesses and individuals.

– The Merrill Lynch /Bank of America Charitable Foundation donated $20,000 to the American Red Cross Colorado chapter.

– Broomfield-based Vail Resorts Inc. has made a $100,000 contribution toward relief efforts and additionally will donate $1 for every season pass sold in Colorado, which will more than double its overall contribution.

WomenGive, a program of United Way of Larimer County, was started in Larimer County in 2006 as an opportunity for women in our community to come together to help other women.

– Radio station KUNC will donate 50 percent of all ticket sales for remaining tickets for Ira Glass’ Reinventing Radio, this Saturday at Boulder’s Chautauqua Auditorium to Colorado flood relief efforts. Cash and check donations will also be accepted at the show. All donations will go to the Foothills Flood Relief Fund, established by Foothills United Way. – Denver-based Greenbox Self Storage is offering 60 days of free storage to those impacted by the Colorado floods. The offer is for any household in the Front Range that has been impacted by the recent floods and is available at either of the Greenbox locations at 3310 Brighton Blvd. in Denver and 1385 S Santa Fe Drive in Denver. In addition, Greenbox is offering free use of its moving trucks in order to move household goods to either Greenbox storage location. – Resource, the retail division of the Center for ReSource Conservation in Boulder, will donate tools, discounted materials, funds and relief supplies to those affected by victims of flooding in Colorado. Half of ticket sales forReSource Wars! Awards Ceremony & Party to be held Sept. 22 will go to the Foothill Flood Relief Fund. The CRC will collect funds and disaster-relief supplies during the party for distribution to community members in need.
