Anadarko posts 3Q profit of $182M

Anadarko Petroleum Corp. (NYSE: APC) earned $182 million during the third quarter, up from $121 million the same quarter last year.

Anadarko, based in The Woodlands, Texas, drills oil and natural-gas wells in Weld County. The company reported record sales volumes from U.S. onshore production of about 590,000 barrels of oil equivalent, according to an earnings statement released Monday.

The company also saw growth of 30,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in its horizontal drilling program in the Wattenberg field, which includes territory in Northern Colorado.

Anadarko shares gained almost 2 percent to close at $95.93 on Monday. The company will hold an earnings conference call Tuesday.
