Empowering communities

Rocky Mountain Health Plans (RMHP), part of the UnitedHealthcare family, has pledged its commitment to uplift these communities through substantial investments in organizations addressing the distinct needs of our communities.

The nearly 30 year old family-owned business, started by Norm Steiner, has more than 60 Federal Aviation Administration supplemental certificates and original equipment manufacturing certificates including heating and air-conditioning systems for more than a dozen OEM manufacturers including Bell, Sikorsky, Eurocopter, AgustaWestland, Enstrom, Beechcraft, Cessna, Learjet, Piaggio, Pilatus and KAI.

Meggitt Addison manufactures air conditioning, heating and ventilation systems for aircraft, including military aircraft. The company also fabricates plastic parts and manufactures hose assemblies.

Rick Steiner, one of Air Comm’s owners and its executive vice president, said in a press release that the deal brings together two great companies. “I have no doubt our customers will benefit from the increased scale of resources available to support their thermal-management technology requirements, overcome and manage FAA certification challenges, and provide the sustainment support and services that are essential for ECS systems.”

Keith Steiner, one of Air Comm’s owners and its president, said in the press release the acquisition brings full circle the technology and entrepreneurship started by Norm Steiner.

Air Comm officials were not available Friday to comment on how Meggit Addison’s plant in Texas or its employees will be integrated into Air Comm.

Prudential Capital of Chicago provided the acquisition financing. ANV Partners provided transaction and financial advisory. General counsel for Air Comm was Ballard Spahr.
