7 businesses recognized by BBB for exemplary ethics

LOVELAND — Woodward Inc., Hot Corner Concepts and Home State Bank were among the seven winners of a Better Business Bureau award Tuesday for their ethical practices.

Of the 11 finalists nominated for a 2012 Torch Award, seven were recognized at a ceremony Tuesday night at the Embassy Suites in Loveland.

The Better Business Bureau of Northern Colorado and Wyoming honored businesses that upheld high standards in relationships with customers, suppliers and shareholders; showed honesty and integrity in marketing and advertising; and gave back to their communities.

Hot Corner Concepts, of Fort Collins, and Home State Bank, of Loveland, shared the honor in the category of businesses employing 100 to 499 staffers.

Altitude Chophouse & Brewery, of Laramie, Wyo., won in the category of companies with 50 to 99 employees.

Otis, Coan & Peters, of Greeley, and Puma Steel, of Cheyenne, Wyo., shared the award in the category of businesses with 11 to 49 workers.

Greeley-based Shirazi Benefits was recognized in the category of businesses employing one to 10 people. 

Palmer Flowers, of Fort Collins; Tharp Cabinet Corp, of Loveland; Wyoming Pure Natural Beef LLC, of Wheatland, Wyo.; and New West Bank, of Greeley, were nominated as finalists but did not receive awards.
