3 Northern Colorado hospitals named to Top 100 list

Three hospitals in Northern Colorado were named on the Truven Health Analytics list of top 100 hospitals in the nation.

The list was released Monday by the Ann Arbor, Mich.-based company, formerly the health care business of Thomson Reuters.

North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley and Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins were both named to the list of best teaching hospitals.

McKee Medical Center in Loveland was placed on the list of best medium-sized community hospitals.

Rose Medical Center in Denver was the only other Colorado hospital recognized on the list.

The data for the list comes from public information, including Medicare cost reports. Hospitals are evaluated on 10 criteria, including mortality rates, patient safety, patient satisfaction and medical complications.
