MBE acquires AlphaGraphics; no changes expected

SALT LAKE CITY — MBE Worldwide has acquired Salt Lake City-based Alpha Graphics Inc., which has franchisees operating print shops in Loveland and Greeley.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

MBE Worldwide, based in Milan, Italy, and AlphaGraphics operate in the business-services industry through a network of locations owned and operated by individual franchisees.

AlphaGraphics will continue to operate as an independent company and will retain its current management team, individual names, business concepts and brands, according to a prepared statement. In addition to franchises in Greeley and Loveland, the company also has three franchises in Denver, and one each in Littleton and Arvada.

AlphaGraphics offers graphic design, printing, marketing and communication services. MBE specializes in third-party logistics, concentrating on shipping, micro- and related retail-logistics services. Both companies serve primarily small- and medium-size businesses, and consumers.

With the acquisitions of AlphaGraphics and PostNet, earlier this year, MBE expanded its network to approximately 2,600 locations in 39 countries, and projects combined systemwide sales of approximately $940 million for 2017.

MBE Worldwide, a family-owned holding company, started as a master franchisee of MBE Inc. in 1993 and subsequently acquired the worldwide Mail Boxes Etc. business from MBE Inc., except for the United States and Canada territories, which still belongs to MBE Inc.
