Bechtel has more than 30 years experience, as an executive, entrepreneur and consultant, managing and advising businesses from startups to divisions of large Fortune 500 companies. Since 2015, Bechtel has been the principal of Bechtel Consulting LLC, which provides consulting services in mergers and acquisitions, financial and investment analysis, capital markets, turnarounds and special situations. Bechtel became involved in the cannabis industry three years ago as a private investor, consultant and adviser.
Doucet will be the company’s vice president of business development for the West Coast. The company hopes to take advantage of market opportunities resulting from the recent legalization of cannabis for recreational use in California, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission about the management changes.
Surna’s board also appointed Paul Kelly as chief financial officer and treasurer. Kelly has provided financial and transactional services to emerging companies including strategic and business planning, debt and equity financing, government contracting, accounting and information technology systems analysis, operations and supply chain management, financial planning, program management, and other senior-management services.
Other new hires at Surna announced Thursday include Camile Lupton as head of sales, Jaime Loos as director of project management and James Holmstead as director of operations and product development.
