Frontier adds 21 new destinations from DIA in move to refocus on its hub

DENVER — Frontier Airlines is expanding its network, adding 21 new destinations from Denver International Airport.

The move is part of a renewed focus the ultra-low-cost airline is putting on its primary hub, Denver Post reports.

The expansion, including non-Denver routes, will increase the number of destinations serviced by Frontier by 30 percent and doubles the total number of routes.

The increase in coverage comes during a time where the Denver-based airline is prepping for an initial public offering.

The new flights will roll out this fall and be fully implemented by next summer. Six of the flights are available to be booked immediately:  Albuquerque; Oklahoma City; Ontario, Calif.; Palm Springs, Calif.; Reno, Nev.; and San Jose, Calif.

New routes from Denver include Boise, Idaho; Calgary, Alberta; Charleston, S.C.; El Paso; Fresno, Calif.; Jackson, Wyo.; Louisville, Ky.; and Tulsa, Okla.

Frontier now serves 82 cities.

To kick off the new destinations, Frontier is offering a sale on flights, with fare as low as $39 one-way for a limited time, mostly from Nov. 2 to March 8.
