Siffring plans Freddy’s franchise No. 5 in Greeley

GREELEY — Mark Siffring is getting closer to his goal of opening seven Freddy’s Steakburgers and Frozen Custard franchises in Northern Colorado.

Through his company Northern Colorado Custard LLC, Siffring has submitted plans to open his fifth Freddy’s — this one at 4735 25th St. in Greeley.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers’ staples are steakburgers, hot dogs, shoestring fries and frozen custard.

Siffring opened his first Freddy’s franchise in Longmont in 2011, and has since opened two in Loveland and one in Timnath.

In Greeley, the 1.6-acre site is at the northwest corner of 47th Avenue and 25th Street and across the street from the Centerplace shopping center. The project consists of a one-story building that will house three restaurants, with parking, lighting and landscaping, according to city of Greeley planning documents. Freddy’s will occupy 3,306 square feet, and two restaurant tenants that have yet to be determined will take the rest of the proposed 7,420-square-foot building.

Richard G. Frohlick of Denver bought the vacant land in March for $1.2 million from 4735 Grapevine LLC, registered to Michael D. Siffring (Mark’s brother) of Lakewood, according to public records. Mark Siffring said he will sign a ground lease, construct the building and lease space to other restaurants.

Freddy’s is named for World War II veteran Freddy Simon, whose sons —

Randy Simon and Bill Simon — teamed with restaurateur Scott Redler to open the first Freddy’s in Wichita, Kan., in 2002. The company began franchising in 2004.

Freddy’s staples are steakburgers, hot dogs, shoestring fries and frozen custard.
