Butler promoted to CEO of Kiosk Information Systems

LOUISVILLE — Bill Butler has been promoted to chief executive of Kiosk Information Systems Inc. in Louisville, replacing Tom Weaver, who will take on an executive-consultant role for the company.

Kiosk Information Systems designs and manufactures standard and custom self-service point-of-sale kiosks for retailers and Fortune 500 clients.

Butler has been Kiosk’s chief financial officer since November 2014. He was the senior director of finance for Niwot-based Crocs Inc. for eight years prior to joining Kiosk.

Weaver and Butler worked together to transition Kiosk from primarily a custom hardware engineering and field services firm to a full self-service solution company.

He was the obvious choice for Kiosk’s next CEO.”

Owen Chen, CEO of Posiflex Technology Inc. — Kiosk’s new parent company — selected Butler to help expand and diversify Posiflex’s point-of-sale product portfolio. Taiwan-based Posiflex acquired Kiosk Information Systesms last year when it paid approximately $105 million for all shares of Kiosk stock, but it kept Kiosk’s management team in tact.
