Study: Housing prices poised to tumble along northern Front Range

A real estate data company is predicting a cooling off of housing prices along the Front Range, including in the Boulder Valley and Northern Colorado.

The Denver Post reports that Location Inc., a geographic research company, forecasts falling real estate prices beginning in late 2019, with prices falling by 20 percent over the folllowing few years. The area eyed for declines includes the Boulder, Denver, Fort Collins and Greeley areas.

Location Inc. uses a variety of data to make its predictions, but the variable contributing most to the declines would be the ratio of household income to housing prices, especially with interest rates on the increase. The study predicts housing-price declines of 17 percent in Boulder and 5 percent in Fort Collins, with flat prices in Greeley.
