TechCrunch to hold pitch competition in Longmont

LONGMONT — TechCrunch, a leading technology publication, is hosting a pitch event in Longmont next week.

John Biggs, an editor of TechCrunch, is hosting the pitch competition at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, at the Oskar Blues Oak Room. The event is held in conjunction with the New Tech Longmont meetup group.

Winners of the Pitch Off event will win a table at the New York TechCrunch Disrupt event May 15-17. The second-place winner will get tickets to the event.

WomenGive, a program of United Way of Larimer County, was started in Larimer County in 2006 as an opportunity for women in our community to come together to help other women.

Companies interested in pitching can apply. Eight companies will be selected for a two-minute pitch and two minutes of questions from the judges.

Biggs held a similar event at the Boomtown accelerator in Boulder on March 29. New Tech Longmont Organizer Tammie Baumann said that after that event, her group requested he hold a similar pitch contest in Longmont.
