Microsoft to acquire Deis cloud technology that originated in Boulder
BOULDER — Microsoft Corp. will acquire Deis, an open-source cloud technology that originated with Boulder-based OpDemand.
The Denver Post reports that Microsoft will acquire the technology from San Francisco-based Engine Yard, which purchased the technology in 2015. Deis employs a small number of people in Boulder.
The Post noted that a blog post Monday by Scott Guthrie, executive vice president of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise Group, says that the Deis team will contribute to Microsoft’s Azure cloud-computing technology.
